Case Study: Trade Shows

Industry trade shows are a key selling opportunity for most companies. In addition to sales, these shows are a chance to highlight new products or services with the news media and investors.

McKendall Communications has represented clients at many of these shows including New York Toy Fair, San Diego Comic-Con, CES and IDEA World Fitness Convention.

Our Process

Association Coordination: We work closely with the association responsible for hosting each event to make sure they are aware of the specific product/service our client will be highlighting at the show. Whenever possible, we secure the registered media list attending the show.

Media Relations: We extend invitations to media outlets to visit our client’s booth during the conference. We conduct one-on-one follow up to schedule booth appointments.

Speaking Opportunities: When possible, McKC will book opportunities for our clients to participate in panel discussions, roundtables or workshops that take place during the show.

During the Trade Show

On-Site Coordination: Our team provides staffing for media appointments and coordinates interviews and booth tours on-site. In addition, we walk the show floor looking for any media that we see and encouraging them to visit our client booth.

Media Relations: McKC works closely with the public relations team for each association on-site to ensure that our client’s products/services are included in any interviews or television segments they may be coordinating.

Press Conference: If appropriate, the team at McKC coordinates press conferences for our clients and conducts media outreach to secure media attendance and staff the event on-site.

In-booth events: Whether a cocktail party, morning coffee bar or celebrity appearance, McKC creates and implements events designed to draw buyers, media and other attendees to our client’s booth.
